No, the TOEFL Paper Edition test is no longer available in India, or anywhere else, as it was officially discontinued by ETS two years ago. Currently TOEFL iBT is only available in India in both home and test centre mode.

The Original Passport is the only accepted ID for TOEFL iBT test for Indians. You cannot use Aadhar card, PAN card, or Driving License. If you do not bring your physical passport, they will not let you sit for the exam and you will lose your money.

In most cases, TOEFL test takers who arrive late to their designated TOEFL test centre will be barred from taking the TOEFL test. Aim to arrive at least 30 minutes before the test start time for registration and security checks. If unavoidable delays occur, immediately inform the test center staff upon arrival. They will assess the situation and determine if late entry is possible, which might involve missing initial instructions or sections.

There are some pros and cons of appearing test at home or at centre. The difference between a home test and GRE test center is mentioned in the table below.

GRE Test Centre

You'll get all things here and you don't need to arrange anything for your exam.

You need to visit the center located in your the nearest city.

You need to sit at a separate place to avoid noise

The exam environment will help you stay focused.

Strict scrutinize in-person proctoring

The Situation Test/ Personal Interview (PI) are the 2nd stage of the NIFT 2026 entrance exam. Candidates were shortlisted for the Situation Test/ PI based on the NIFT 2026 written exam scores.

Note that if the candidate fails to qualify for the 2nd stage, he or she is not considered for admission to various design courses offered by the NIFTs.

The only exception is B.F.Tech program, where the merit list for admission will be prepared solely on the basis of GAT scores.

In the case of other courses, the merit list will be prepared by giving weightage to the written exams and Situation Test/ PI.

Yes. For MArch admissions, candidates will be required to upload their portfolios in the CEPT application form. The attached portfolios should be an A4 size single PDF with maximum 10 pages in landscape format. The maximum file size and dimension should be 20MB and 150 dpi, respectively. Since portfolio holds 50% weightage in Stage 1 of the CEPT admission process, the candidates are advised to carefully upload the PDF.
