The National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysore is an autonomous institute affiliated with the Visvesvaraya Technological University. Founded in the year 1946 by S. Ramaswamy, DV Narsimha Rao and T Ramarao, NIE is the second engineering college in Karnataka and the first one in Mysore.
