International students must apply online at the University of Edinburgh via the portals mentioned by submitting an application fee and required documents. 

Below are the steps to submit an application succesfully: 

Step 1-Choose a program: International students have to choose a programme among various undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs, and the eligibility criteria.

As part of the University of Edinburgh application process, taking the GRE is not required. However, other admission requirements are there which are mentioned below: 

Admission requirements for UG courses:

  • CBSE (Class 12th): Total score of 80% with 75% in three subjects,  consisting of English.
  • Personal Statement
  • Letters of Reference
  • English language proficiency by taking tests like IELTS/TOEFL/Cambridge Test of English

  • A Bachelor's degree with 60% or more,  or a GPA of 8/10

Yes, it can be considered a little expensive as International students are required to pay a tuition fee for studies at the University of Edinburgh for their Engineering courses. There is an application fee of EUR 27.50 (INR 2,500) while applying for UG programs at this university through the UCAS portal.

In 1557, Bishop Robert Reid of St. Magnus Cathedral made a will containing an endowment of 8,000 marks to build a college in Edinburgh. However, the bequest was delayed for more than 25 years due to the religious revolution of 1560. On Apr 14, 1582, the King granted a Royal Charter empowering the town council to create a college of higher education and the University of Edinburgh began its journey as Tounis College with 80 - 90 students.
