Yes, the UoE campus is generally considered safe for Indian students. The crime rate is known to be low. The security team is there to protect students in case of emergencies. The campus is partrolled by guards, and CCTVs are installed at almost every public space. Any harassment releated incidents can be shared with 'The Advice Place'. Other services include Electronic access gates and the Global Online Safety Advice.

Yes, the eateries on campus do serve Indian food. These are managed by the Students' Union. Off-campus, one can find many Indian restaurants. These serve better quality of food and offer more variety. Some popular options are mentioned below.

For a Medicine course, Indian students need to meet the requirements given below.

  • Minimum 85% in five subjects of the 12th Standard from CBSE, CISCE or ISC
  • Minimum 85% or more in English, Chemistry, and two of Maths, Physics, or Biology
  • No English scores required if the above conditions are met
  • UCAT score
  • Additional qualifications like the International Baccalaureate or GCE A Levels are optional

Yes, UoE fees can be paid in installments. This usually involves setting up an instalment plan. The university would deduct money from the card on 3 fixed dates, each year. The instalments are to be paid on the 3rd of each month. The university accepts Mastercard, American Express, and Visa.

Yes, it is possible to change the field of study at UoE. This depends on if seats are available or not, overall academic scores, and when the application is submitted. This can affect the tuiton fees. Transfer for new 1st year students are only allowed in the first 2 weeks of the first semester. The Student Adviser can provide the required guidance.

The cost of an MS in Computer Science at Edinburgh University is around INR 55.3 L for one year. The programme can be completed in one year. It can be pursued in a part-time format over 3 years. Modules are taught over the first 2 semesters. The programme ends after creating a dissertation project in the summer.

Yes, Indian students can pursue an MBA online at UoE.  Applications open for either September or March entry. The programme has an overall duration of 24 months. It is accredited by the AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA. This programme is recognised around the globe. It would take around 5-9 hours every week.

For admission, a minimum of 3 years of prior work experience is required.

The University of Edinburgh only accepts IELTS Academic. The minimum IELTS score required for admission is 6.5 or more. A minimum score of 6.0 is needed for each of Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking sections. This can vary for different specializations. The UoE does not accept scores for IELTS One Skill Retake, IELTS General, IELTS for UKVI General, and IELTS Life Skills for UKVI.

Similar to the Ivy League in the US, 24 of the best universities are part of the Russell Group in the UK. The main difference between RG universities and others comes in research, teaching, and overall standing. RG university faculty members are usually Nobel Prize winners or world-class researchers. You get a low student to faculty ratio and a better environment.
