(Hons.) programme in 2024, the general category cutoff ranged from 140 to 277, with a last closing rank of 279. A score of 78–85 is competitive, but aiming above 100 is advisable. The B.Sc. LL.B. (Hons.) also relies on CLAT scores and counseling. For the LL.M. program, the closing ranks were 452 in Round 1 and 620 in the last round. The 2025 cut-offs by category include scores from 70 to 98 marks.

Aspirants who have passed LLB/ five-year integrated LLB from a recognised university with an aggregate of 50% are eligible to apply for NUJS LLM course. Aspirants applying for LLM must have the documents proving their eligibility for verification at the time of admission. The selection for LLM is based on CLAT score.

At the UG level, NLU Kolkata offers two five-year integrated BSc LLB (Hons) course. The course is spread across 10 semesters, each year comprises of two semesters. Any candidate, who has completed Class 12 in any stream, can apply for NUJS BSc LLB (Hons) course. However, the final selection of students will be based on the HSC and CLAT scores.

Aspirants need to pass Class 12 or equivalent exam with at least 45% aggregate to apply for NUJS BSc LLB (Hons) programme. There is a 5% relaxation in the aggregate for BSc LLB (Hons). There is no age limit to take up the CLAT exam. Candidates must hold the documents proving their eligibility for verification at the time of admission. Besides, aspirants must also pass CLAT exam for admission in BSc LLB (Hons) course.
