According to students of BTech Chemical Engineering (batch of 2025), placements for the Chemical branch was not that high. Further, the lowest and the highest package offered during IIT Tirupati Chemical Engineering placements in 2023 stood at INR 5 LPA and INR 40 LPA, respectively. Further, as per the CSE student review, the average package offered during IIT Tirupati placements is around INR 9 LPA. Some students are also of the view that IIT Tirupati is not great in terms of placements but good for higher studies.

Candidate should have completed 16 years of age as of 31st December of the year of admission (2023). There is no upper age limit. |
| After 10th Diploma | Candidates should have passed S.S.C. Examination (Class 10th) conducted by State Board of Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana or any other examination recognised as equivalent thereto by the Board of Secondary Education, A.P/TS. such as CBSE, ICSE, NIOS, A.P. Open School Society (APOSS), X class examination conducted by various State Boards of Secondary Education in India with Mathematics as one of the subjects.
