Trident College of Marine Technology is not very hard to get admission at. The Institute provides first-come-first-serve basis admission through merit. To get admission at TCMT Kolkata, candidates must be between 17.5 to 25 years of age. Candidates must be Class 10 qualified with a minimum aggregate of 40% and with Science and Maths subjects along with English. Candidates who have passed ITI course in 2 years with 50% of minimium aggregate obtained from a government approved institute can also avail a seat at Trident College of Marine Technology Kolkata.

TCMT courses' admissions are based on entrance.TCMT courses' admissions are based on the entrance exam (TCMT Common Entrance Test) for GPR and CCMT courses. However, for the rest of the four courses, students are selected based on merit. Candidates must also fulfil the minimum eligibility requirements for the respective courses.
