The UCEED exam will have two parts - Part A and Part B. Part A will include Numerical Answer Type NAT Multiple Select Question (MSQ), Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Meanwhile, Part B will include drawing and aptitude-based questions. Note that in the previous edition of the exam, Part B include only sketching-based question. So, starting UCEED 2024, the candidate also needs to prepare for aptitude based questions that will be asked in Part B. Questions for the aptitude section will evaluate the ability of the candidate to practically and appropriately respond to problems/situations with ingenuity and empathy.

The Part A of the UCEED question paper will include questions from Visualization and spatial ability, Observation and design sensitivity, Environmental and social awareness, Analytical and logical reasoning, Language and creativity, and Design thinking and problem solving topics. Note that IIT Bombay will release the detailed syllabus at the time of issue of the admission notification or sometime thereabout. Yes, IIT Bombay has released a revised syllabus for the UCEED exam. The revised syllabus will be applicable from the academic session 2024 onward. As per the revised syllabus for the UCEED 2024 exam, the question paper will have two parts - Part A and Part B. Part A will continue to be conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) mode and will have three sections NAT MSQ, and MCQ). However, Part B will now have two sections - 1) the Drawing-based section, and 2) the Design Aptitude Section. The full details for the revised syllabus, including section-wise questions and marking scheme will be released shortly.

The question paper for the UCEED 2024 exam will 3 hours long and have two parts. Part A - It will be computer-based section, 2) Part B - It will be a sketching-based test. The candidate need to appear in both the paper to be included in the merit list. Further, the candidate has to qualify Part A, or else his or else Part B paper answer booklets will only be evaluated. The qualifying marks for Part A will be released before the declaration of results. Part A will include the three types of questions - Numerical Answer Type NAT Multiple Select Question (MSQ), and Multiple Choice Question (MCQ). .

IIT Bombay released a revised syllabus for UCEED on March 3, 2023, The revised syllabus is effective from 2024 onward.

IThe UCEED 2024 exam was conducted as per the revised syllabus.

Candidates appearing in the next editions of the UCEED exam need to follow the revised syllabus.

The UCEED syllabus contains the topics that candidates need to prepare for the national-level design entrance exam. As per changes made to the UCEED syllabus, Part B question paper now include two questions.

The Part A paper of UCEED 2024 exam will be administered in a computer-based mode. So, the candidate must know the basics of computer handling to take the exam. Note that advanced knowledge of software and hardware is not needed to take the paper. Note that in the scenario there is a technical issue during the exam, the candidate may approach the invigilator for assistance. The invigilator will then take remedial steps to fix the problem. If the problem persists, the candidate will be assigned a different computer terminal.

Only such candidates who belong to the PwD category are allowed to use the services of a scribe. The candidate can use scribe services only for Part A. However, using the services of a scribe is not allowed for Part B. It is because Part B of the question paper is used to evaluate the candidates drawing skill. The candidate can select their category (PwD in this case) at the time of filling out the UCEED 2024 application form. In case of candidates belonging to any other category than PwD, scribe services is not allowed.

It is of paramount importance that the candidate follows the official exam pattern to prepare for UCEED 2024. It is because the exam pattern will provide insights into the types of questions asked, sections covered, marking scheme, mode of the exam, etc. Unless the candidates has any knowledge of these subjects, it will be like searching for a needle in a haystack. Also, note that IIT Bombay has revised the syllabus for UCEED 2024. As per the revised pattern, the Part B question paper will now include a drawing and an Design Aptitude question. Also, the test duration for Part B is increased to 60 minutes from 30 minutes.

The candidate needs to remember the following points about Part B question paper of UCEED 2024:
Part-B will now include only TWO questions
The question for the section will shown on the computer monitor. The candidate after reading the question has to write/ draw the answer option in the answer booklet provided by the invigilator. Part B test will evaluate the drawing ability and Design Aptitude of the candidate. Part B is mandatory and will only be evaluated if the candidate qualifies Part A. The cut-off marks for Part A will be declared by IIT Bombay before declaration of results.
