No, Maths is not a mandatory requirement but mathematics is a part of exam. Even the students from non-mathematics background are eligible to appear for the UGAT exam. However, the Quantitative Aptitude section of the UGAT exam is one of the toughest sections of UGAT and if the candidate wishes to ace the UGAT exam, then they need to brush up on your mathematics skills to get a good score in this section. Any student who has appeared for their Class 12 exams and passed from a recognised board will be eligibile to appear for the UGAT exam.

The UGAT eligibility criteria is as follows:
There is no age bar to be eligible to appear for UGAT exam. However, candidates need to fulfil the other UGAT eligiblity norms.
Candidates must have completed their Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognised board or institute.
General and Non-Creamy Other Backward Classes (NC-OBC) category candidates must have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the Class 10 and Class 12 standard examinations. For candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PWD) categories, a minimum of 55% aggregate marks is required.

All India Management Association has prescribed the UGAT eligibility criteria for admission to undergraduate programmes such as Integrated MBA, BBA, BCA and BHM and other courses. The UGAT eligibility criteria are the requirements that the applicants must fulfil before filling out the UGAT 2026 application form.
