Horticulture College Bagalkot is one of the best government university for pursuing Bsc, Msc, B.Tech etc. courses. The university doesn't give direct admission, for taking admission to this university one has to take the KCET exam which is mandatory for taking admission to any college in Karnataka, also one can give JEE Mains whose score is accepted generally by all colleges in India. For taking admission to B.Tech course in the university one has to:-
- The candidate has to pass the 10+2 examination or its equivalent from any recognised board.
- Also, one has to take the entrance exam i.e. KCET or JEE Mains as there is no direct admission.&

Candidates who passed Class 12 or PUC are eligible to apply for the KCET. Earlier, students had to have a minimum of 45% in the qualifying examination to be eligible to apply.
Course wise: Varies for Medical and Dental and Medicine and Homeopathy. Also, candidates should also satisfy the KCET eligibility criteria of all the clauses laid out by the Karnataka Examination Authority.
Reservation: The eligibility criteria include various parameters like age, citizenship, qualifying marks, domicile, etc.

The University of Horticultural Sciences, Bagalkot accepts the scores of the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) for admission to its undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in horticulture, agri-biotechnology, and food Science and technology. The candidates have to secure a minimum of 50 marks to qualify the entrance test and attend the counselling process. For the doctoral degree programs, the university also conducts its own entrance test and interview.

- University of Horticultural Sciences, Bagalkot (UHSB) offers three degree programs: B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture, B.Sc. (Hons.) Agri-Biotechnology, and B.Sc. (Hons.) Food Science and Technology. College of Agriculture, Hassan (COAH) offers only one degree program: B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture.
