University of Houston and UHCL are universities under the same system along with the same Chancellor but otherwise they are both different. University of Houston has a large campus located in south of Central Houston whereas the campus of UHCL is smaller and has its branch campuses which offers upper level and graduate level students on campus. Other aspects such as scholarships, enrollment, admissions and acceptance rate of both universities is also different.
