As per UOL Ph.D. eligibility criteria, All candidates who have applied will be allowed to appear in the research entrance test. So the research entrance test RET of UOL is mandatory and followed by an interview. Minimum 50% marks in RET is another requirement for admission.

The University of Lucknow was founded in 1921, so it's older. In 1996, DDU Gorakhpur was founded.
NIRF has Lucknow University ranked 35th, much higher than DDU GKP, which is ranked in the 100–150 band.
Lucknow University has a 3.67 CGPA and an A+ NAAC grade. DDU GKP has a CGPA of 2.69 and an NAAC grade of B+.
