Lucknow University admissions for the majority of programs are based on scoring obtained in the prescribed entrance tests. The university accepts scores from exams like CUET and CUET-PG for the regular programs. Further, Engineering admissions are based on the basis of JEE Mains exam performance. LU admissions also involve lateral entry and direct admissions for NRI seats in the BTech and MCA programs. Furthermore, the UGPET test also provides admissions to students for courses like BCA, BCom, BBA, etc.

Lucknow University offers a wide range of courses at the UG, PG and Diploma, and PhD levels. The admission to most of the undergraduate and postgraduate courses are based on Undergraduate Entrance Test (UGET), Under Graduate Professional Entrance Test (UGPET) and Postgraduate Entrance Test (PGET). Candidates must appear for the University of Lucknow's in-house entrance exams. For this, candidates can visit the official website and fill out the admission form.

IELTS or TOEFL is not mandatory for admission to Universities like Shivaji Pune or Osmania University. Osmania University admission to PG, PG Diploma, and five-year Integrated courses is through its entrance test called Common Post Graduate Entrance Test (CPGET).
