The creation of these rankings is done to know and evaluate the university's performance on the global stage and provide a comprehensive ranking report for the students to make an informed higher education decision.
For the year 2025, University of Massachusetts Amherst is ranked at #84 among the best universities.

ARWU, short for Academic Ranking of the World Universities also known as Shanghai Ranking is known as one of the best ranking bodies in the world. It is one of the three most influential rankings of the world alongside Times Higher Education World University Rankings and QS World University Rankings.
Over 2,500 Universities are ranked by ARWU every year. In the overall ARWU ranking, University of Massachusetts Amherst ranks at #201 in 2024, which is a significant decline from the last year as the rank was #151 for the last year which was constant in the year 2022 too.

As per the University of Massachusetts Amherst subject ranking 2024, many of the university courses are ranked among the top in the world. US News has ranked the University of Massachusetts Amherst at #34 for Chemical Engineering PG. Additionally, it is also ranked #44 for Computer Engineering PG by US News. Both universities are good in own way you choose to your priority based so I give some points in given below it help to choose right to your priority.
1.if you choose columnbia this programme is reserch oriented and provide to you varieties of laps and projects.
And if you choose ummass it is mainly focused on research specially with tha state of arts like database and ai
If you choose umass Amherst if reaserch important for you so you chosee this university
And also if you focus on networking and easy to access to industry and you can afford it
To choose to your priority based.
