University of Southampton Admission Process

The University of Southampton takes about two to six weeks in processing applications submitted by the candidates. Applications submitted in January, particularly near to the UCAS equal consideration deadline, might take substantially longer to be processed due to the high volume received at that time.

• Depending on your course and the time of year that you apply, you will be sent an invitation to an Applicant Visit Day either after you apply or if you are made an offer to study. For some subjects you may be required to attend an interview. If this is the case, you will be contacted directly by the faculty.
• If you are made an offer, you will have a deadline to reply to your offers by, depending on when you applied.
• If you wish to take a gap year, your application will be considered in the normal way, but for entry in 2024 the conditions must have been met in the summer of 2023.
