No, Indian students do not always need to submit an IELTS score for the University of Southampton admissions. This university accepts specific Indian-school-level English qualification in place of IELTS.

Check the pointers given out to see if you qualify for an IELTS waiver

  • If you have studied at a CBSE or CISCE school for the final four years of your education and also scored at least 70% in English in class 12th, then you do not need to take IELTS

  • If you do not meet the above requirement, then you would need an IELTS band score of 6.5

Tests like TOEFL iBT (92 overall score) and PTE (62 overall score) are also accepted.&nbs

Students struggling with studies at Southampton Uni are advised to reach out to their Personal Academic Tutor (PAT). They can help with:

  • Settling into the university
  • Providing personalized feedback
  • reviewing modules

If the PAT isn't available, students should contact their faculty's Senior Tutor.

Yes, students can transfer between courses at the Uni of Southampton. For transfer to a new programme within the same school, students need to consult their Personal Academic Tutor. An approval of the Deputy Head of School (Education) would be required for the transfer to happen.

For transfer to a new programme in a different school, approval of both schools is required.

Program transfer at Southampton Uni is dependent on the following:
