The Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS) is a unique reference number that students need when they make their student visa application. CAS is basically a confirmation of the unconditional offer of place to study with the University of Surrey. It is an electric document that confirms both the university’s and the students’ personal details and generates a unique CAS number.
Note that the CAS cannot be issued more than six months before the start date of the intended program.

After the University of Surrey has received the application from UCAS, the University of Surrey sends the applicants an email confirming that it has received the same.
