The needed rank would depend on the category, round and branch. For the General AI category, the highest rank acceptable in the first round is 600000. Hence, General AI category students need a rank of at least 600000 to be wualffied fir admission in 2026.

UPES Dehradun JEE Main cutoff 2026 for the General AI category ranges from 450000 to 600000 in the first round. The most competitive specialisations for admission are BTech CSE, followed by BTech in Aerospace Engineering (Avionics) and BTech in Aerospace Engineering (Space Technology). All 3 branches had the Round 1 closing ranks of 450000, 500000 and 500000, respectively.

No, you cannot join UPES Dehradun for its MBA programme without appearing for the accepted entrance examination. To gain admission to this institute, students would need to take one of the following exam after they clear the basic eligibility rules.
- XAT
Students who attempt the previously mentioned exam and attain valid results for the respective exams might be considered qualified for admission.

Especially for their MBA programs, an XAT percentile of 60 might not be enough to get admission to the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun. XAT, CAT, and other entrance exam results are typically taken into account by UPES when admitting MBA candidates.
For general category students, the cutoff for UPES's MBA programme often falls between the 70th and 80th percentiles or above. Though it will probably be more challenging, you might still have a chance at some of their specialised or less competitive specialisations if your XAT percentile is 60. UPES Dehradun cutoff for the MBA course is based on NMAT scores. As per the last NMAT 2024 scores for admission to UPES , the minimum NMAT cutoff was 140 for the General All India Quota. Also, in 2023, the NMAT score for university was the same at 140, hence it can be concluded that there has been no change in NMAT cutoffs in last two years.
