The candidates can check here the list of best books for the UPPSC exam. There is no such things as best books but some books are better then others considering the language and information provided in them.

No, only NCERT books are not sufficient for the UPPSC exam preparation. The NCERT books can provide an introduction to the topic but they do not dive into details because they are written as per the syllabus of Class IX to XII. However, in the UPPSC exam, the topics need to be covered in their entirety.
The candidates should know all the subtopics of that topic. The candidates should complete the NCERT books within a week of starting them.
