UPPSC UPPCS 2023 result for the prelims exam is expected soon. The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) will release the UPPCS prelims result 2023 soon. The Commission will mention the post groups and the roll number of the qualified candidates in the result pdf. The UPPSC result 2023 will be released online only and the qualified candidates will be called to appear in the UPPSC PCS main exam. The Commission will conduct the UPPSC main exam in the last week of September. The Commission will not release the final UPPSC answer key and the cutoff of the prelims exam. Both of these will be released after the declaration of the final result. The candidates will be required to calculate their marks from the final answer key. 

UPPSC PCS 2023 tentative answer key was released online on May 17.  The Commission conducted the UPPSC 2023 prelims exam on May 14 across the state in the offline mode. The UPPSC PCS 2023 exam was conducted for 173 vacancies. The UPPSC vacancies are tentative and expected to increase at the time of final result.  UPPSC PCS exam analysis 2023 was available here on the day of exam.  The candidates who appeared in the exam shared their views with Shiksha.com. The candidates shared that there were repeated questions in the exam. The candidates also stated that there was a good mix of conceptual and factual questions. Most of the candidates reiterated that the factual questions and the repeated questions will increase the UPPSC 2023 cutoff marks. The candidates also shared that the UPPSC 2023 paper was of moderate difficulty level. 

The candidates should note that the marks secured in the UPPSC Prelims exam will not be considered for the final merit list but the candidates will be required to clear the prelims exam because it is mandatory to clear the prelims in order to appear in the mains exam. The Commission is expected to release the UPPSC result in June. The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission will not release the UPPSC 2023 cutoff for the exam. The Commission release the cutoff after the final declaration of the result. The UPPSC 2023 main exam pattern has been changed. The UPPSC PCS main exam will be conducted in the last week of September. This will be the first time when the exam will be conducted based on the new UPPSC syllabus. In the official UPPSC 2023 notification, the Commission changed the UPPSC PCS main exam pattern and added General Studies "Fifth and Sixth Paper in the UPPSC main exam 2023 instead of the optional subject. The mark assigned to each of these new General Studies papers is 200. These papers will ask questions about the historical facts related to the state, Geographical features of the state, Cultural diversity prevailing in the state, and different climate conditions in different parts of the state. The Commission did not release a detailed syllabus for the newly introduced papers. The official notification only mentions that these papers will ask question-related to Uttar Pradesh's specific General Knowledge in detail.

UPPSC Exams 2023

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) is the apex state recruitment body that conducts various exams to recruit candidates for various Group B services.  The UPPSC 2023 vacancies are expected to increase because the Commission accepts the request of the departments till the prelims exam. What is UPPSC PCS?

UPPSC conducts the Uttar Pradesh Combined State/Upper Subordinate exam to recruit candidates for the Group B services through Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services and Assistant Conservator of Forest/Range Forest Officer Services Examination 2023. The UPPCS exam recruits state government functionaries in provincial civil services and other state services. These functionaries get their postings in various essential departments, such as land records, land revenue, and general administration.

UPPCS Result 2023

The UPPSC PCS result 2023 (prelims) is expected to release in June 2023. The Commission releases the result online only. UPPSC result for the prelims exam is released online within 45 days of the exam. The Commission does not release the cutoff for the exam. It is released later after the completion of the exam process. UPPSC PCS Result 2022 was reelased online on April 7, 2023. The Commission released the roll number and names of the qualified candidates. As per the UPPSC result notice, Divya Sikarwar from Agra topped the exam. The Commission mentioned in the result notice that it selected 364 candidates against 384 vacancies in the exam. The Commission released the result pdf online only and the candidates can search for their roll number in the result pdf. 10 candidates were selected based on the written exam only. UPPSC interviews were conducted till March 21. UPPSC PCS interview call letters 2022 were released on February 15. The interview schedule for UPPSC PCS 2022 was released on February 14. The interviews were conducted on February 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 27 & 28 and on March 1, 2, 3, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20 and 21, 2023. UPPSC PCS main result was released on February 9.

UPPCS Cut Off 2023

The Commission releases the UPPSC PCS cutoff 2023 after the final result. The release of the UPPSC PCS cutoff can be considered as the last step of the exam process. UPPSC released the UPPCS prelims cutoff 2021 on December 20. The Commission released the UPPCS cutoff 2021 for all the exam groups in the official notice. The Commission also released the scores of the candidates behind the login. The Commission releases the UPPSC PCS cutoff only after the completion of the exam process. The Commission releases the category-wise UPPCS cutoff for all the groups. UPPCS 2023 Admit Card

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission released the UPPCS 2023 admit card on May 2. UPPCS admit card is the essential document to secure entry to the exam centre. The candidates must carry one government identity proof with the UPPSC admit card to establish their identity when asked for at the examination centre.

UPPCS PCS 2023 Form

The UPPSC PCS 2023 applications were closed on April 10.  The Commission released the UPPSC PCS 2023 application form on March 3. UPPCS 2023 form to apply for the exam was released with the official notification. The Commission provided one month to fill and submit the UPPCS 2023 application form.

UPPCS Educational Qualification

The candidate must be a graduate to appear in the UPPSC PCS exam 2023. The candidates who will appear in their graduation degree exam can also appear in the exam but they need to submit their final year mark sheet at the time of the UPPCS main exam Detailed Application Form (DAF) submission.

The above posts are an exhaustive list. Some posts are not notified in the notification for the exam. There can be an increase in the number of UPPSC posts in case the Commission include more posts for the exam. 

UPPCS Age Limit

The common age limit for all the positions is:

  • Minimum Age limit - 21 years
  • Maximum Age Limit - 40 years (on July 1 of the exam year)

The candidates born before July 2, 1983, and after July 1, 2002, will not be eligible to appear in the UPPSC 2023 exam.

UPPSC UPPCS Exam Pattern 2023

The UPPSC PCS main exam pattern has been changed. The state government has approved the removal of the optional subject from the main exam. The UPPCS exam has three stages selection process and the candidates must pass all three stages of the UPPCS exam to qualify for the exam. The stages of the selection process are given below.

1. UPPCS Prelims Exam
The prelims exam is the first stage of the UPPCS selection process. UPPSC conducts the prelims exam across the state in offline mode and around eight lakh candidates appear in this exam. Last year, the UPPSC UPPCS prelims question paper was not in consonance with the previous year's papers. There are two papers in the UPPCS prelims exam that are mentioned below:

  • UPPCS Prelims General Studies Paper - 2 (CSAT)

2. UPPCS Main (written) Exam

UPPCS Personality Test (Viva Voce)

The personality test is the last stage of the UPPSC UPPCS exam. The commission has assigned 100 marks to the personality test, which makes it an important factor in deciding the final rank. The personality test revolves around current events and the Detail Application Form (DAF) filled out at the time of the main exam. 

The UPPSC conducts the personality test in the commission’s office premises and the candidates need to go to Prayagraj for the personality test. After the personality test, the UPPSC results will be declared. It will pave the way for the selection.

UPPCS 2023 Syllabus

The Commission notifies the official syllabus in the notification every year. UPPSC Syllabus is kin to the UPSC syllabus now. The prelims exam is conducted on the same lines as conducted by UPSC. UPPCS syllabus is the key to the preparation and consequently for the selection in the exam. The candidates should refer to the syllabus and prepare each of the topics given in the syllabus. The number of UPPCS exam centres is notified in the official notification. The UPPCS prelims exam will be conducted at all major districts in the state. The UPPSC main exam will be conducted at three exam centres only. Both exams are conducted in offline mode.

UPPCS Answer Key 2023

The candidates can check their answers from the UPPSC answer key (tentative) and calculate their scores. The Commission does not release the final answer key before the completion of the exam process. The final answer key released after the final result. After the prelims exam, the Commission releases the tentative answer key. The Commission invited objections from the candidates to suggest corrections (if any) in the question or in the answer provided by the Commission. The Commission forms a committee to examine the objections received from the candidate. It recommends the changes required in the tentative answer key. The Commission will consider the recommendations and will decide accordingly. The UPPSC answer key serves as the basis to form the UPPCS Prelims result.

UPPCS Vacancy 2023

The number of vacancies is the real motivator for the candidates. UPPSC vacancies are 173 released in the official notification. The candidates are always curious about the number of vacancies in the UPPSC UPPCS exam. The number of vacancies is a very important factor in arriving at the cut-off in the preliminary and main examination. Q: Who is the Cadre Controlling Authority of UPPCS Officers?

A: In all the states, there is a Personnel department that controls the transfer and posting of the state PCS officers. The head of the state personnel department is the Chief Minister of the state. The Chief Secretary of the state is the nodal officer for the state IAS officers and the PCS officers through some Principal Secretary. The candidates selected on the post of PCS officers are appointed by the Governor of the State.

Q: Can State PCS Officers be promoted to IAS?

A: The State PCS Officers can be promoted to the IAS subject to certain conditions laid down by UPSC. Every year, out of the total vacancies of IAS (in a state), 33% is filled through the promotion. The minimum years of service is 12 years. Only after completing this much years in service, the candidate become eligible for such promotion. The UPSC will form a Committee for the promotion in the Chairmanship of UPSC member. States Chief Secretary will also be the member of that Committee.

Q: Are UPPSC and PCS same?

A: No, the UPPSC is the name of the state commission that is Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) and PCS means the Provincial Civil Service. The PCS is the name of top service in the state (after IAS). The PCS officers are posted as SDM, Project Director and the likes. The PCS officers are only second to the IAS officers posted in the state. The PCS officers are eligible for promotion to the IAS cadre subject to certain conditions.

Q: What qualification is required for PCS officer?

A: The candidates should note that the PCS officers are recruited through the UPPCS exam and the educational qualification required to become a PCS officer is a graduate in any discipline. Some posts in UPPCS exam required additional educational qualification, which is mentioned in the official notification. There is no minimum percentage required to fill the UPPSC PCS application. The Commission provides a level playing field to all the candidates.

Q: Which post is higher, IAS or PCS?

A: IAS is the highest service in India where as the PCS works in a particular state only. PCS is the highest state controlled service in a state recruited through the State Public Service Commission, while IAS is controlled by the Union Government of India though the salary is provided by the states and they have the power to suspend the IAS officer. PCS can become IAS officer after a certain period of service and subject to the result of interview conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.

The Commission also mentioned the authority to which the representation will be addressed. UPPSC PCS 2023 was conducted on May 14. After analysing the objections, the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission will prepare the final answer key and based on the final answer key, the UPPSC prelims result will be released.
