The above posts are an exhaustive list. Some posts are not notified in the notification for the exam. There can be an increase in the number of UPPSC posts in case the Commission include more posts for the exam. 

UPPCS Age Limit

The common age limit for all the positions is:

  • Minimum Age limit - 21 years
  • Maximum Age Limit - 40 years (on July 1 of the exam year)

The candidates born before July 2, 1984, and after July 1, 2003, will not be eligible to appear in the UPPSC 2024 exam.

Earlier, the total number of subjects in the UPPSC PCS exam is 29 including four literature subjects. The candidates were required to select one of the optional subjects from the list. The General Studies, Hindi, and Essay paper were compulsory to all the candidates. The Commission should do the answer writing practice during preparation.

UPPSC 2023 Main exam will be conducted from September 26 based on the new syllabus and exam pattern.

 

UPPSC UPPCS Exam Pattern 2024

The UPPSC PCS main exam pattern has been changed. The state government has approved the removal of the optional subject from the main exam. The UPPCS exam has three stages selection process and the candidates must pass all three stages of the UPPCS exam to qualify for the exam. The stages of the selection process are given below.

1. UPPCS Prelims Exam
The prelims exam is the first stage of the UPPCS selection process. UPPSC conducts the prelims exam across the state in offline mode and around eight lakh candidates appear in this exam. Last year, the UPPSC UPPCS prelims question paper was not in consonance with the previous year's papers. There are two papers in the UPPCS prelims exam that are mentioned below:

  • UPPCS Prelims General Studies Paper - 2 (CSAT)

2. UPPCS Main (written) Exam

UPPCS Personality Test (Viva Voce)

The personality test is the last stage of the UPPSC UPPCS exam. The commission has assigned 100 marks to the personality test, which makes it an important factor in deciding the final rank. The personality test revolves around current events and the Detail Application Form (DAF) filled out at the time of the main exam. 

The UPPSC conducts the personality test in the commission’s office premises and the candidates need to go to Prayagraj for the personality test. After the personality test, the UPPSC results will be declared. It will pave the way for the selection.

Q:   Is the UPPSC PCS Main exam pattern changed?

No, the UPPSC PCS main exam pattern was not changed but the Commission removed the Optional subject from the main exam and introduced the General Studies Paper 5 and 6. These papers will ask the Uttar Pradesh specific topics and questions related to the local folklore of the state.

UPPCS 2023 Final Result OUT

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission released the UPPSC 2023 final result online on January 23, 2024. The Commission released the roll number, names, and category in the final Result PDF. The Commission conducted the UPPSC 2023 interviews till January 12, 2024. As per the notice, three candidates did not appear in the UPPSC 2023 interviews. 

The UPPSC PCS main result was released online on December 22, 2023. The Commission released the result pdf online on its official website only. The UPPSC PCS result 2023 (prelims) was released online on June 27. The Commission released the UPPSC PCS prelims result 2023 on its official website - uppsc.up.nic.in. The Commission released the roll number of the qualified candidates. The Commission does not release the cutoff for the exam. It is released later after the completion of the exam process.

The UPPSC PCS prelims result 2024 is expected to be released in September 2024. The candidates should note that the marks secured in the UPPSC Prelims exam will not be considered for the final merit list but the candidates will be required to clear the prelims exam because it is mandatory to clear the prelims in order to appear in the mains exam.  The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission will not release the UPPSC 2023 cutoff for the exam.

Yes, the UPPSC PCS result will be released for all the posts. The result is released for all the post groups separately. The candidates are divided and assigned to the post group based on the eligibility criteria defined for the post. The cutoff for each of the post group is also different. UPPCS Cut Off 2024

There are 21 districts where the UPPSC PCS 2022 prelims exam was conducted. The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission does not conduct the UPPSC PCS Prelims exam in all of its districts. There are 76 districts in Uttar Pradesh but the UPPSC Prelims is conducted in 21 districts only. 

The candidates were required to travel to the exam centre and pay for the traveling and accomodation because in most cases the exam centres are not allotted to the nearest city to the candidates residence.

Q:   Are NCERT books sufficient for the UPPSC Exam Preparation?

A:

No, only NCERT books are not sufficient for the UPPSC exam preparation. The NCERT books can provide an introduction to the topic but they do not dive into details because they are written as per the syllabus of Class IX to XII. However, in the UPPSC exam, the topics need to be covered in their entirety.

The candidates should know all the subtopics of that topic. The candidates should complete the NCERT books within a week of starting them.

Q:   What is the educational qualification required to become a PCS Officer?

The candidate must have a Bachelors degree to fill the UPPSC exam application form. Some special posts require special educational qualifications. There is no minimum percentage in the Graduation exam required to fill out the UPPSC application. The candidate with any percentage and stream can apply for the exam. The candidates appearing in their final year of qualifying exam can also apply for the exam.

The Commission also mentioned the authority to which the representation will be addressed. UPPSC PCS 2023 was conducted on May 14.
