Preparation for Usha Martin University's B.Tech is challenging but achievable if you are determined and committed. Admission is not that difficult as in top institutions. You must have a good 10+2 result (generally 45-50% in PCM) and entrance test marks such as CUET. After admission, the studies are rigorous and consist of theory and practical lab sessions, projects, and assignments. Nevertheless, the university has well-equipped facilities, interactive pedagogy, and supportive teachers that facilitate the students to overcome the challenges. It takes persistent effort and self-restraint, but most find it worth it for study and professional purposes.

Usha Martin University offers a wide variety of courses at various levels and streams. For engineering, you have B.Tech courses in streams such as Computer Science, Mechanical, Mining, and Civil Engineering (with lateral entry) and Diploma courses in the same streams. Business and management streams at the university have courses such as BBA, MBA (some of them even in collaboration with industry partners), and an integrated course in BBA LLB in law. Computing and IT streams at the university have courses such as BCA and MCA, and arts and humanities streams are covered with courses such as BA (Hons) in English and Journalism & Mass Communication. The university has commerce (B.Com), pharmacy (B.Pharma and D.Pharm), health sciences (B.Sc Nursing and BPT in Physiotherapy), agriculture (B.Sc in Agriculture), and forensic Science (B.Sc Forensic Science) courses, apart from post-graduate, integrated, and research courses in Ph.D. degrees.

Usha Martin University doesn't guarantee 100 per cent placements but has a steadily improving placement record. The placement cell of the university is actively working to help students connect with the more reputed recruiters across various streams. In the last years, the placement rate hovers around 75%. Top recruiters include Wipro, Cognizant. Most students who joined MBA and B.Tech (CSE) programmes secured good placement. While the highest has been packages of INR 10 LPA, placements, in fact, depend a lot on students' performances, their skills, and the market demand. For enhancing employability, training, internship, and developing skills at UMU facilitate this; 100 percent placement remains a dream in the context of the college.

Usha Martin University offers a 100% fee waiver on tuition fees if students get 95% above in qualifying exams. Some exceptions include Nursing, Pharmacy, and LLM, which do not offer 100% fee waivers. All these scholarships are available for only the first year and subsequently for the rest of the period, with 20% tuition fee rebate every year. In addition, UMU offers a 10% scholarship to all Jharkhand domiciled students in all programs unless already benefiting from the merit-based scholarship. To retain financial aid, students must maintain good academic standing and comply with the university's regulations.
