For a fresher, the starting salary can range anywhere from 2 to 3 Lacs PA but it really depends on how well you have performed in the interview. Once you have established yourself in this field, you can move to another position up the ladder The salary for an animator has seen an upward trend in the past few years and this is something that needs to be taken into consideration. However, you need to make an effort in order for you to get to a high paying level.

VFX is much in use these days and is surely going to remain a lead requirement and part of the screen works in electronic media, films etc. There are two options that your son can keep for a career in VFX- one is to Do private level courses from academies that won't provide degree of a recognised university and the second option is to go for a graduation in Graphic, Animation and associated VFX domain. Hyderabad, Mumbai are leading places for such courses. AAFT, Symbiosis, ARENA, and many more offer B.Sc. Animation and Visual Effects etc. The basic qualification is 12th and his being from Science won't matter. He is eligible.

If you would have asked this question a few years ago, then I honestly would've said that there is little to no scope when it comes to animation and VFX courses in India. However, in present times, I absolutely must say that this once limited scope has expanded spontaneously. Movies like Baahubali show exactly how big the animation and VFX industry has grown. One such field that you probably don't know about has to be the outsourcing of animation and VFX requirements to India, which is one of the many reasons why this scope will simply not decrease. Talking about salary of VFX Artist, it all depends on upon your capabilities and imagination to make the end product look ultra professional. And if you are a fresher then salary would be in the range of 8-15k. Once you got the good experience in this field you can earn a lot more than you think. I've heard about some guys with 5 years of experience and they are earning 70 K per month. It is a growing course. And now talking about the Executive producer, earns an average salary of Rs. 800,000 per year. Most people with this job move on to other positions after 20 years in this career. Experience strongly influences income for this job.
