WB SET syllabus has been prescribed by the West Bengal College Service Commission (WBCSC). The WB SET syllabus differs for all the 33 subjects for which the exam is conducted. The WB SET syllabus contains topics from Paper 1 and Paper 2. While Paper 1 is common for all candidates, Paper 2 is subject-specific. Candidates need to appear for WB SET Paper 2 in the subject of their post-graduation only. The West Bengal College Service Commission (WBCSC) will release the WB SET (West Bengal State Eligibility Test) provisional answer key soon after the conduction of the WB 26th SET exam. The candidates will be given opportunity to raise objections against the provisional answer key, if tey find any discrepancy in the answer key. The WB SET final answer key will be based on the scrutiny of the objections raised by the candidates.

The candidates need to qualify for both papers that are paper 1 and paper 2 in order to be eligible to qualify for the WB SET exam. The candidates have to score a minimum of 40 per cent marks (Unreserved category) and 35 per cent of marks to qualify for the WB SET exam. However, among the candidates crossing the minimum qualifying marks, the top 6 per cent of the candidates will be made qualified for the Assistant Professor.

There is no provision for re-evaluation/re-checking of WB SET result. The official notification reads, No correspondence in this regard shall be entertained. The candidates can only raise objections against the provisional answer key. Based on the objections raised by the candidates the final answer key and the result is released.
