WBSET 2024: The West Bengal College Service Commission (WBCSC) released the 26th WBSET 2024 answer key on the official website. The WBSET 2024 result will be declared soon. What is WB SET?

West Bengal State Eligibility Test (WB SET) is conducted by West Bengal College Service Commission (WBCSC) to determine the eligibility of candidates for Assistant Professor in Universities and Colleges of West Bengal. WBCSC holds the test in two sessions for Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is common for all candidates and Paper 2 is conducted for 33 subjects. Correction in the WBSET 2024 Admit Card

The WB SET board released the guidelines to make corrections to the WBSET 2024 admit card. The guidelines have been given below for the candidates. Follow the guidelines to make corrections in the WB SET 2024 admit card:

Any type of correction will be done after the verification attendance sheet and valid ID proof of the candidate (Adhaar Card/ Passport/ Voter Id/Driving License)

WB SET Age Limit 2024

There is no upper age limit to apply for the WB SET 2024 exam.

WB SET Educational Qualification 2024

Candidates who have secured at least 55 per cent marks in their Master’s Degree and belong to any UGC accredited Universities/Institutions are eligible for the test.
The Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to non-creamy layer/ Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Candidates/ Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ persons with disability (PWD) category candidates who have secured at least 50 per cent marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for the test.

Candidates who have appeared for their Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for the test. However, such candidates shall be considered eligible for Assistant Professor only after they have passed their Master's Degree OR equivalent examination with at least 55 per cent marks [50 per cent marks in case of OBC falling in Non-creamy layer/EWS/SC/ST/PWD (persons with disability) category candidates].

Candidates from the transgender category will enjoy the same relaxation in fee and qualifying criteria for SET as applicable to SC/ST/PWD categories.

The PhD degree holders whose Master’s level examination was completed by September 19, 1991, shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5 per cent in aggregate marks, which means the qualifying percentage for them is 50 per cent.
Candidates who have passed UGC NET/CSIR JRF exam before 1989 don’t need to appear for WB SET.

NOTE: Candidates can apply for the subject studied in their post-graduation only. If the subject studied in post-graduation is not covered in the list of subjects, the candidates can apply for related subjects.
