In West Bengal there many top ranking government engineering colleges including IITs and NITs.
The following are the top colleges in West Bengal under the government ownership:
1) IIT Kharagpur:
Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur or IIT KGP) is a public engineering institution established by the government of India. Ranked at the 3rd position by NIRF, IIT Kharagpur has great infrastructure and offers huge placements. It has produced many alumni like Sundar Pichai, Vinod Gupta, etc.

Hello,
West Bengal appears to be the only state not insisting on domicile certificate for taking WBJEE. The official announcement has been made and full information is available on its website. However for benefit of students I will state few important facts.The WBJEE will be conducted n 22 Apr 2018. It will be in Pen and Paper mode only. There will be two papers. One for maths and other for Chemistry + Physics. Both papers will be two hours duration. Any citizen of India can appear. He/she should be of minimum age of 17 years. There is no upper limit. Heritage College of Engineering, Kolkata is a very good college for biotechnology but the thing is that if placement is the sole criteria on which you want me to give analysis of the college, then I must tell you that the college is just an average college and you will be disappointed to know, almost 50-60% of the total batch of biotechnology students end up in IT companies, marketing firms, and banking sector jobs, where you would get nothing more than 4 LPA.
