The Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) follows the Maharashtra state government's reservation policy. As per this policy, 50% of seats are reserved for various categories, including Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), and other eligible groups as defined by the state government. These reservations also extend to concessions in eligibility criteria, such as lower minimum marks for admission (e.g., 40-45% for reserved categories compared to 45-50% for general candidates). For PG courses Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline with minimum 50% marks for general and 45% for reserved categories).

YCMOU Nashik admissions are primarily merit-based. Candidates of Reserved category with 45% marks are eligible to apply. OR

Candidates completed graduation/post graduation with 55% marks in Engineering and Technology/Management/ Computer Science/Law/Information Technology/Agriculture/Bachelor of Banking & Insurance/Medical Sciences/All Social Science/Fine ART/Performing ART from any recognised institute/university are eligible to apply.
