The eligibility requirement for admission to BSc (Hons) Zoology is that candidates must complete their Class 12 from the PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) stream. Additionally, for the admission process, the university accepts Class 12 scores and CUET scores too. The university releases the merit on the basis of candidates' achieved scores in their Class 12 and accepts valid scores from the CUET entrance exam.

Eligibility criteria differ for UG, PG, and PhD courses in zoology. A Science stream candidate who clears Class 12 with Biology as a subject is eligible for admission to BSc Zoology. For the PG course in Zoology subject, BSc/BSc (Hons) in Zoology is a must, though candidates who passed BSc/BA in medical and allied medical sciences/biosciences/life sciences are also eligible to apply.

For a PhD, a Post-graduation degree in a relevant discipline with 55% (50% for SC/ST candidates) is a must.
