What is B.Ed Distance Education?

Duration of Distance B.Ed Course

The duration of B.Ed correspondence/distance learning is 2 years and the students will be given a maximum of five years to complete the course.

The institute like UP Rajarshi Tandon Open University (UPRTOU) offers one year B.Ed course to the students.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Ed Distance Education 2019

The eligibility criteria of distance B.Ed program is different from a regular B.Ed course. The eligibility criteria of B.Ed distance education course is as below:-

  • The aspiring students must possess 50% marks in Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in arts, science, commerce, or engineering stream in order to be eligible to apply for distance B.Ed course.

Who can Apply for B.Ed Distance Program

  • The individuals who have completed a teacher education program recognized by NCTE in a face-to-face mode are also eligible to apply for the B.Ed Distance program.
  • The individuals trained in-service teachers in elementary education.
  • The individuals who have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in primary or secondary schools.

Entrance Exam

The admission to some institutes like IGNOU is done on the basis of the score obtained in the entrance test conducted by IGNOU all over India.

The candidates will have to fill in the “Entrance-cum-Admission” application form with self-attested copies of the documents as per the instructions.

Hello Manimalar, the eligibility for admission in B.Ed programme is graduation. Diploma in engineering is not equivalent to graduation. Therefore after diplomacy you will not be eligible for admission for B.Ed. You will be required to do graduation first and then only you can go for B.Ed.
