New Fraud Cases Comes to Light in AIIMS Entrance Exam
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered four new cases with regards to AIIMS (All-India Institute of Medical Sciences) Entrance Exam manipulation for admission to various courses. The first case is related with rigging of results of the all-India post-graduation entrance examination conducted in January 2010. According to the agency, optical mark recognition answer sheets of seven candidates were interpolated in that examination. As a result, all the seven candidates got through in different colleges.
The second case relates to manipulation in the under-graduate entrance examination held in June 2010 where OMR answer sheets of six candidates were tampered and one of them got admitted to the course.
In the third case, the accused rigged the post-graduation entrance examination last November, by using a similar method. As per the investigations, answer sheets of eight candidates were interpolated and all of them were in the merit list.
Three of the candidates enrolled in various courses at the premier institution. The agency has registered the fourth case for alleged AIIMS Entrance Exam Manipulation in the all-India post-graduation entrance examination conducted by AIIMS in January 2011, in which answer sheets of four candidates were tampered with and all of them were admitted to different medical colleges.
On June 2, the CBI had registered a similar case regarding an entrance examination held on May 8 and arrested six persons, including the alleged mastermind behind the racket.
