India’s No. 1 Private University for the 3rd Consecutive Year in QS Asia University Rankings 2026-CU

QS Asia Rankings released, and once again Chandigarh University has proven its strength by securing the title for India’s No. 1 Private University in the QS Asia University Rankings 2026, proving its global excellence & making CU the only university in India to retain this title for three consecutive years, by securing an overall rank of 109th in Asia. Chandigarh University secured 109th overall rank in Asia and continues to stand tall with Asia’s leading institutions, showing its commitment to innovation, research, & higher education. 

Chandigarh University’s journey from 2024 to 2026 has shown a transparent dedication towards academics, from becoming India’s No. 1 Pvt. University with 149th rank in Asia for 2024, to retain the position for 2025 & thus improving ranking to 120th, and again crowned as India’s No. 1 Private University with 109th rank - 2026. 

CU's rise in the Asian Higher Education Landscape

CU first appeared in the QS Asia University Rankings in 2022. Since then, it has climbed more than 160 spots in just a short time.

The rankings are based on globally recognized indicators such as Academic Reputation (30%), Employer Reputation (20%), Faculty/Student Ratio (10%), Citations per Paper (10%), Papers per Faculty (5%), International Research Network (10%), Internationalisation Measures (10%), and Staff with a PhD (5%). 

Together, these parameters highlight how universities across Asia are performing - showcasing their commitment, influence, and overall contribution to academics and research.
