JEE Main Question Paper Pattern and Marking Scheme

To prepare for JEE Main 2024, candidates must have a clear idea about the question paper pattern and marking scheme. Candidates can look at the JEE Main question paper pattern to understand the distribution of questions across three subjects – Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and marks allotted to each. For each correct answer, four marks are allotted and for each wrong question, -1 mark is deducted. No marks are deducted for unanswered or unattempted questions.

Q. Is 210 in JEE mains a good score?

Chapterwise weightage of class 11 and 12 topics in JEE Main are mentioned below:

  • Physics: Current Electricity Waves AC, Magnetism, Laws of Motion Work, Power and Energy.
  • Chemistry the high weightage topics are s and p block elements, Coordination compounds, Thermodynamics Gaseous state, Chemical bonding, Atomic structure, Polymers, Environmental Chemistry Organic Chemistry.
  • Mathematics, the high weightage topics are Sequence and Series Vectors and 3D, Integral and Differential Calculus, Definite and Indefinite Integral.

There are two question types in JEE Main exam. Multiple choice questions and numerical ability questions. In MCQ, every question has 4 options with only 1 correct answer. Select the correct option. In numerical ability question type, no options are there. Solve them and write answer using keyword and mouse.
