Dr. C.V. Raman University, Bihar is a private university and is also known as CVRU. It is located in Bhagwanpur and was established in 2018 by the AISECT under the Bihar Private Universities Act, 2013. It is named after the first Nobel Laureate of the country, C.V. Raman and is one of the best private universities in India. Also, it is the 1st private university in the state of North Bihar to achieve excellence in education and research in multi disciplines. CVRU is recognised by the UGC. The University offers various programmes to students at the UG, PG, and Diploma levels under 5 faculties, including the Faculty of Commerce and Management, Faculty of Arts & Humanities, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Computer Science & IT and Faculty of Agriculture.

Dr. C.V. Raman University offers BA (Hons) courses for the duration of three years in several specialisations. The names of some of the offered specialisations are Hindi, Geography, English, History, Political Science, Economics, Sociology, Home Science, etc. To get admission into these courses, candidates must complete their Class 12 from a respective board of education from any stream. Moreover, for the admission process, the university releases the merit on the basis of candidates' achieved scores in Class 12 or also accepts CUET UG scores.
