Admission shall be made strictly on the basis of marks obtained in the Entrance Test and past academic record. The minimum qualifying marks in the Entrance Test will be 35%. In case of SC/ST candidates, the minimum qualifying marks shall be reduced until the full SC/ST quota for admission has been exhausted. A candidate seeking admission to the course should not have completed the age of 26 years in case of boys, 28 years in case of girls and 29 years in case of SC/ST (both for boys and girls) as on July 1, of concerned year.

The college is moderately strict when it comes to the eligibility requirements of Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) at HPU Shimla. The eligibility criteria include:- Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination from H.P. Board/CBSE/ICSE or any other examination considered equivalent to 10+2, by the Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, with 40% Marks (35% marks for SC/ST category).- Maximum age limit for admission to BCA course is 21 years for general category, 24 years for SC/ST category, and 23 years for girls candidates, as on the 1st July of the year concerned. The admission to BCA course will be made on the basis of merit of the qualifying examination.
