The University has disclosed the median package details in the NIRF report 2023. Over the past three years of placements (2020 to 2022), an improving trend was recorded in all the courses, except PG (1-year) courses, for which the median package has been fluctuating. For popular courses like UG (4-year) and UG (3-year), the median package has improved slightly from 2020 to 2022 placements. Out of 65 UG (4-year) students, 10 were placed in the 2022 drive. Jagannath University is a private university, it conducts its own entrance exam for the admission of the students that is JUET. Cut-offs may vary every year on the numberof students applied for the exams.

For Bachelor degree eligibility criteria in this university is passing 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised board and for post graduate  a relevant bachelor's degree from a recognised university is required.

This university also follows the reservation policy of state government to get the admissions. The admission process may be competitive for some popular courses (eng., managment, etc.), the university is known to have a fairly straightforward admission policy based primarily on the entrance test scoresof the candidate.
