B.Sc. in Botany - Batch of 2027
Offered by Jagdam College
4.2

Decent college for Botany with supportive faculty but limited placement opportunities.
Placements: Placements for the Botany course at Jagdam College are not very strong, as only a very small percentage of students get placed directly from campus. Most students choose to prepare for higher studies, research, or government exams instead. The highest package offered is quite low compared to professional courses, and the lowest as well as the average package remain limited. Overall, placement opportunities are minimal, so students need to rely more on further education or off-campus options for better career growth.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of Jagdam College is quite basic but manageable for students. Classrooms are spacious, though facilities like labs and the library need more updates. Hostel arrangements are average with limited amenities, but overall, it’s decent for studying and staying.
Faculty: Faculty of Botany at Jagdam College is supportive and knowledgeable, though the teaching style is often traditional. The curriculum follows JP University guidelines, covering both theory and practical aspects of the subject. Exams are held regularly with a mix of written tests and practical evaluation. While the syllabus is useful, more modern resources and interactive teaching methods could make learning more effective. Overall, the course provides a solid foundation for higher studies in Botany.

It is not a very good choice because of the delay in sessions.
Placements: There are no placements. No firms or companies generally visit here. However, one can get placement in local coaching institutes with around 2 LPA. In general, students choose to pursue higher studies, and then, they apply for government jobs like tutor etc.
Infrastructure: No hostel is available. Wi-Fi is available. The college has one of the biggest grounds for outdoor games. Indoor games facilities are available. The college has a beautiful landscape. There is a canteen which offers good quality snacks. Labs are available with all the necessary equipment.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and very knowledgeable. But there are no regular classes. I think the course curriculum is relevant. Exams are moderate, and 60% is the passing percentage, although it varies with departments. The college does not conduct exams on a regular basis. Mostly, the exams are delayed.
Other: I love to read about plants, that's why I chose botany. Exams should be conducted regularly without any delay, and there should be regular classes and practicals.

I am absolutely dissatisfied because of the way of teaching of professors.
Placements: Zero per cent were placed in my college. No, no company came to my college for my course. There was no role offers in my course. Nile per cent of students got internships from my course and no company came to my college for internship or any course offered.
Infrastructure: There is enough area for my college and there are many classrooms, labs and library but poor facilities. There is no connection between Wi-Fi, medical facilities, sports, and the canteen. Professors of my colleagues did not attend class. They always came late.
Faculty: Teachers were not helpful in math honours. They are qualified but do not have good knowledge. Teaching quality was very bad at my time. During semester exams, the professor always made excuses and did not take a class. Semester exams are moderate and 45 percent is the passing marks in the honours paper.

The college has good faculty, placements and infrastructure.
Placements: Placements in our college are good. Reputed organisations like SAIL, BHEML, etc., visit the campus for placements. The highest salary package offered was 2 lacs per annum with all dearness allowances. Various profiles are offered to students, mostly in accounts and management. The stipend offered during internships was Rs. 10,000.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are well established with smart class facilities by Tata Edge. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled. The library, medical facilities, sports and games, etc., facilities are available on the campus. The canteen is good and hygienic. CCTV cameras are available. The campus is lush green. Solar energy is used to provide the electricity supply.
Faculty: Various courses are offered by the college such as bachelor in science, bachelor in arts, bachelor in commerce, computer science, information technology, journalism, media and technology etc. Master courses are also provided by the college. There is good coordination between students and teachers.

This college is too compare to other colleges.
Placements: My senior students are selected for DALMIA cement factory company. Approximately 45% students were placed. The highest salary are ?35,000, the lowest are ?15,000 and average are ?20,000 to ?25,000. Cement companies, power house companies, automobiles companies. Approximately 35 to 40 percent are got internship from college. Yes, there placement cell. I think it's too much useful.
Infrastructure: In my college the Wi-Fi campus are available, labs are too much good, classrooms are too beautiful and also CCTV are available at every classroom, In library all the books are available that we need so I think this is too good library, medical facilities are also available at every condition and place, sports are also available in the campus. The good quality of labs are in lab there are more lab equipments are available. The quality of food are available in canteen are too good because all the foods are fully fresh and healthy. There are 20 hostel rooms. No, I don't face any infrastructure related issues.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are very helpful any all conditions, they are well qualified and also well knowledgeable. The teaching quality was damn high means from in which method you understand a problem. The student to faculty ratio is 2:3. I don't get any industry exposure right now.
Other: Events are also doing in every 2 or 3 months. The campus are too crowd at any fest, connectivity are very well, campus surrounding are too beautiful, and the scholarship are got all students in every year.

Good practice facility for the practice and good placement.
Placements: I am working on the DXC technology, and I was placed as a technical support Engineer in PC solutions Private limited company after that I joined CSC India. In DXC, I am a system administrator, here I manage all types of technical issues, like windows and networking.
Infrastructure: There are very good classroom and sports field. Also, there is proper practice lab available for the practice. Transport facility is available with a nominal charge. There is a conference room with technical ads. The culture infrastructure of Jai Prakash Vishwavidyalaya is also very good.
Faculty: They are very qualified teachers and professionals. Some of the teachers are very qualified, and also they knew many languages and cultures. There are a lot of teacher from other states and other cultures. They do manage all the types of students here.
