CUSAT is far better than KTU 1.According to 2015 scheme exam results will be available within 1 month due exam. 2.Syllabus is vast and terrific compared to KTU, it has a Syllabus tougher than NITs and nearly equivalent to BITs and IITs. If you doubt then compare the first year Syllabus of KTU and CUSAT 3.Very good faculty. 4.CUSAT is ranked among top 1000 universities in the world, only 33 Indian institutes was able to get in the list, CUSAT is the only one in kerala. Even NIT Calibur failed to get in. 5.Engjneering in SOE (main campus). Accredited under tier 1 (only two colleges in Kerala, NIT calicut and SOE) by NBA. NAAC A grade accredited. 6.Very good placement opportunity, last year's average was around 4.8lpa. Even if you have 2 arrears, you can apply for placement in many companies like TCS, WIPRO, etc. ( due to tough Syllabus of CUSAT). Don't worry about placements. 7.A campus life which you could only dream. So exciting.

KTU is just an affiliating type university. It does not have any direct campuses.Research funding is very week. They give only around 20 PhD fellowships a year.Authorities are at TVM and they issue non-practical orders.Faculties are stressed because even clerical work are transferred to them in form of digitization. The university believes that making syllabus and exams extremely difficult will increase quality of education and employability. But, the result is a large group of dropout and mentally tortured students. In short research output of KTU and employability of KTU students are big question marks
