Aspirants need to pass Class 12 or equivalent exam with at least 45% aggregate to apply for NUJS BSc LLB (Hons) programme. There is a 5% relaxation in the aggregate for BSc LLB (Hons). There is no age limit to take up the CLAT exam. Candidates must hold the documents proving their eligibility for verification at the time of admission. Besides, aspirants must also pass CLAT exam for admission in BSc LLB (Hons) course.

At the UG level, NLU Kolkata offers two five-year integrated BSc LLB (Hons) course. The course is spread across 10 semesters, each year comprises of two semesters. Any candidate, who has completed Class 12 in any stream, can apply for NUJS BSc LLB (Hons) course. However, the final selection of students will be based on the HSC and CLAT scores.

NLU Kolkata accepts the CLAT entrance exam for admission to its BA LLB (Hons) and BSc LLB (Hons) courses at the UG and LLM course at the PG level. NLU Kolkata CLAT cutoff 2026 for Round 1 was 284 for B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and 550 for the BSc. LLB. (Hons.) in Criminology and Forensic in the General AI category. 

Similary, for the LLM course, the clat round 1 closing rank was 429.

For BA LLB (Hons) course, the CLAT 2026 Round 1 closing rank was 284 for NLU Kolkata and 310, for NLU Jodhpur. Based on these ranks, NLU Jodhpur is relatively easier for admissions when compared to NLU Kolkata. However, students can also compare the colleges based on other parameters, including tuition fees and NIRF ranking, to know which NLU would be a better choice. 

The WB National University of Juridical Sciences does not offer direct admission. Candidates need to qualify the accepted entrance exams for admission. The university considers CLAT score for admission to BA LLB (Hons), BSc LLB (Hons) and LLM courses. NLU Kolkata conducts an entrance test for admission to LLD, MSc and PhD courses. Selected candidates need to participate in the counselling round for admission.

Yes, a candidates is eligible for admission in WBNUJS with 70% in Class 12. The minimum required aggregate for admission to the UG courses at the university is 45% with 5% relaxation for reserved category. Hence, they qualify the eligibility criteria and must appear for the entrance exam accepted by the university, i.e., CLAT.

The life at.West Bengal National University of Juridicial Sciences ia very good.The faculty is above par for majority of the papers. As for the fees it isn't significantly higher than that of other top NLUs. Yes, the size of the campus is not much but being at the heart of Kolkata we have access to all sorts of entertainment and of course good food! In-campus infrastructure is significantly improving as I write this, with wifi throughout the campus and air-conditioning (except hostels), the Kolkata humidity won't trouble you much. Administration is also efficient and most of the communications happen through emails.

Above all West Bengal NUJS has a very good atmosphere, with consistent performance over the years and exceptional seniors it is the best in the law circuit. The brand value of WBNUJS is something to be proud of for every student studying there and I have no doubt that WBNUJS will keep on improving!
