Bachelor of Journalism and Mass communication (BJMC) - Batch of 2026

Good infrastructure but dissatisfying curriculum.
Placements: In journalism, you won't get any placements. However, if you're studying medicine or computer science-related courses, there's a possibility if you work hard enough. The highest package was allegedly 12 lakh per annum. For an internship, as long as you're willing, you'll get internships in media houses like ANI, UNI, and PTI.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure, in my opinion, is the best part of this university. It is a 100% green campus and the air quality index is always more than breathable. There is Wi-Fi availability on campus, in library and in the hostel. The central library is satisfying. Medical facilities are pretty good since SVSU has it's own hospital. There are big sports grounds but no sports equipment; you'll have to carry your own.
Faculty: faculties are not very careful. You'll have to pester for them to teach you a skill. But the head of department is very supportive and he actually listens and even takes 2 subjects himself. The curriculum is relevant but doesn't include everything, and there's a lack of faculty members too. Semester exams were pretty average. The pass percentage is 40%.
Other: I chose this course because, of course, I wanted to be a journalist. Improvement could be in seriousness, curriculum and it would have been better if there were more students.

It has the best environment to study and do something in your life.
Placements: The placement rate is 100%. The packages offered are very good enough, nearly about 40,000 per month. Many companies like Zee Media, Star and many more come here. Anchor and sub-editor posts were offered to the students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. The labs are neat and clean. The classrooms are neat and clean, and the library is neat and clean and also has fair enough books to read. It has a silent and pleasant environment to concentrate on studies.
Faculty: The best thing is that the teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable. That's why the students who pass from here are brighter and get good jobs.
Other: The course has everything. Some co-curricular activities are also conducted to have fun and learn at the same time.
