if you are interested in core biotechnology, then no Indian Institute has the required curriculum and infrastructure to build a career in biotechnology and so if your budget allows, you should go for foreign institutes as they have a superior curriculum and infrastructure, but if you have budget constraints or biology is the only option for you, then you should consider MIT as it has better curriculum and alumni network and if you want to explore software or any other field along with your coal branch, then it will be easier for you with biotechnology because the biotechnology curriculum. Indian Institute is very easy and can easily be covered by exploring other things, but you must remember that you should maintain a high CPI like above nine so that you can sit for the best company placements and can also secure admissions in the top premium Institute for Masters

Honestly, Robotics & AI at TIET is still pretty new, so placements aren't separate or “guaranteed” yet. Most students sit with CSE/COE/ENC during placements, and that's where the real action is.Thapar's overall placement scene is solid though — big names like Microsoft, Adobe, Atlassian, DE Shaw, Zomato, Amazon, Flipkart do come in. If you're skilled, you won't be held back just because your branch says AI.If you want a safer + stronger option, I'd say:COE (Computer Engineering) – best placements overallCSE – great if you get itENC (Electronics & Computer) – underrated, very good mix of hardware + softwareECE – decent, but you'll need to hustle more for software rolesRobotics/AI is good if you're genuinely into it and ready to build projects on your own. If placements are your top priority, COE/CSE/ENC are still the smartest bets at Thapar.

Honestly? Thapar University (LMTSM) at Dera Bassi for MBA is decent, especially if you want the Thapar brand, good faculty, and a structured campus life.Placements are average to good (mainly marketing, HR, ops), not IIM-level, but solid for freshers. Worth it if you're aiming for learning + brand value, not just flashy packages.

here's how people do get the application fee waived or reduced:Official admission drives / open days – sometimes Thapar shares fee waivers during school visits, education fairs, or webinars.Tie-ups with schools – a few CBSE/ISC schools get a waiver or discount link directly from TIET.Counselling rounds / special windows – occasionally during late rounds or category-based admissions.Best bet: just mail or call the TIET admissions office and ask politely if any waiver is available for your category or score. People do get lucky.
