UPES School of Design considers entrance based eligibility to provide admission to any of the UG and PG level course. The school offers courses such as BDes on the basis of minimum aggregate of 50% in Class 10 and Class 12. Whereas, for MDes, candidates must secure a minimum aggregate of 50% in Class 10 and Class 12 and graduation from any of the courses such as BTech/ BArch/ BFA Interior Design/ BDes or other with a minimum aggregate of 50%. In addition to this, candidates must secure valid scores in entrance exams of NID/ NIFT or secure valid scores in UCEED/ JEE Main/ UPES DAT/ CUET or other equivalent national-level examination. 

The college is moderately strict when it comes to the eligibility requirements of B.Tech. in Computer Science (Global Pathway Program) at UPES School of Computer Science, with a minimum of 50% marks in class X and XII, and a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths required.

Admission to UPES School of Design for courses such as MDes would require Class 10 and Class 12 qulaification with 50% along with 50% aggregate in graduation. Candidates must secure valid scores in accepted entrance exams such as UCEED/ UPESDAT. After qualifying the merit based criteria, candidates must appear for portfolio presentation and interview. UPES School of Business Studies offers full-time BCom and BCom (Hons) at the UG level. Admission to these courses is subject to the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria specified by the university. As per the specified eligibility criteria, candidates seeking admission to BCom at UPES School of Business Studies are required to have passed Class 10 and Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 50%. Candidates from all streams (Science/ Commerce/ Arts) are eligible to apply. Hence, Mathematics is not compulsory for BCom admission at UPES School of Business.
