VNSGU Surat MCom Eligibility & Highlights 2025

MCom at VNSGU Surat is a full time programme that is offered for a duration of two years. This programme is spread across two specilaisations, MCom in Financial & Management Accounting and MCom in Statistics. In this postgraduate programme, students study various facets of Commerce and Management. This programme is available in two mediums, English Medium and Gujrati Medium.

VNSGU Surat MCom admissions are done based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Interested students can also check the below-mentioned eligibility criteria before applying:

Eligibility:

A candidate who has obtained Bachelor’s Degree with 40% (for Open/SEBC category) shall be eligible to apply for admission in courses of commerce faculty. (Relaxation will be given for reserve category candidates as per existing government rules)
A candidate will be considered eligible for admission to MCom Degree course only if he/she has passed the Bachelor’s Degree (BCom) (Special) examination with English as one of the subject or BBA Degree course
Candidates who have passed the BCom Degree (special) examination without English are eligible for the admission to MCom Degree course, provided, he/ she shall be required to attend the orientation classes in English to be conducted by the respective PG Centres. The students must register (2/3) attendance in such orientation classes
A candidate who has passed the BCom/BBA Degree examination at least in Second class may select MCom Financial & Management Accountancy

Good college and good for study.

Placements: All the students got placed except who are interested in higher study and counselling, and placement team of Aspee Shakilam Agricultural Biotechnology Institute, i.e., ASABI was good and enthusiasm, and more students oriented to place every student.

Infrastructure: Aspee Shakilam Agricultural Biotechnology Institute set up a good lab like a lab for tissue cultural, biotechnology, nanotechnology, animal biotechnology, biochemistry, and crop physiology. Every year, institute check the medical status of every student of the institute.

Faculty: The teacher and professor of Aspee Shakilam Agricultural Biotechnology Institute was expert in his/her own area and good knowledge towards his or her area. They are highly qualified. Both methods of teaching were used as backboard and power point which is very helpful.

Other: All the events were organised every year.

Great and an honourable way of learning is provided to the students.

Placements: The placements were good. The highest salary offered was Rs. 24,000 per month. The placement process was very good. The roles such as bank executive, back office work were offered to the students. Many banks, cooperate industries and many other firms visit the campus for placements. It is useful for a student to overcome his/her nervousness, and also it will help them to increase their self-confidence.

Infrastructure: The campus atmosphere is good. The facilities provided for sports and studies are great. I like to attend the classes. The food in the canteen and infrastructure facilities are also good. There is a large cricket ground, tennis loan, basketball court and a volleyball court available on the campus. One can easily find every sports facility. The college also has a naturistic view, good atmosphere and has a great amount of powerful positive energy.

Faculty: The teaching staff were highly qualified. They have different ways to explain every aspect. Apart from the teaching, the sports activities are also very good. Our physical education teacher used to deal with the students as a friend and was always helpful during my college days.

Their degree is worthy in comparison to other universities in South Gujarat.

Placements: Only 20% of people got the opportunity for placement, and the industrial companies announced jobs for freshers and experienced candidates for roles like finance manager, business executive, and assistant. However, the chances of getting the best job for the future were more beneficial for Gujarat caste students than any other caste. HDFC and ICICI Bank offered jobs. Around 20 to 30% of students got internships, but the chances of work-from-home for students like big no.

Infrastructure: The institute was very clean and peaceful. No one disturbed anyone. There were clean, large classes and free Wi-Fi. The best facilities for sitting, with a long hall and ceiling fans. The canteen and everything else were just wow to survive. The sports facilities were also good, and the water facility was pretty good too.

Faculty: Teachers were very qualified and educated. Some were very experienced. However, not all of them had the quality to teach efficiently or smoothly. They could teach, but not in an effective way that made learning easy. The extra-curriculum was always arranged by departments, and sometimes, they gave students the chance to tour companies. Exams were hard, and getting passing marks was not as easy as in other universities and colleges.

Other: I chose this degree because I wanted to be a professor, and it impressed me to pursue the management course. There was a need to change some faculty members and to improve by giving every student a chance, not only the committee members.

Fine College. It's a nice place to study.

Placements: For engineering students and MBA students, there are plenty of placement opportunities. Almost every year, 60-70% of students get placements in companies like Reliance, Mercedes, Infosys, etc. The average package is 4.5 lac per annum and the maximum package is 9 lac per annum.

Infrastructure: The college's main attraction is its campus infrastructure. The college campus is built beautifully, occupying almost 250 acres, it has all the necessary labs and libraries. Also, it has a cricket ground and a football ground too. In total, it has 6 canteens where food is hygienic and healthy. Hostel facilities are also available for boys and girls separately and all hostel rooms are provided with access to LAN.

Faculty: The college curriculum is not updated for a very long time. But this is a bitter truth and is a reality for the majority of colleges and not particular for this one college. And faculty members are well qualified from reputed institutions with most of them having Masters or PhDs. They are very helpful as well. But their teaching methodology is very old. The ratio of boys over girls is somewhere around 6:1.

Other: Overall, I would like to say that VNSGU university is not just a college but a whole universe on its own.
