To be conducted by CBSE, JEE Main 2014 a gateway for admissions to undergraduate engineering program in NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded technical institutions. Check out the nitty-gritty’s of the exam.

About the exam:

To be conducted by CBSE, JEE Main 2014 is a gateway for admissions to undergraduate engineering program in NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded technical institutions. The top 150,000 rankers in the JEE Mains will be eligible to write the JEE Advanced. The IIT Merit list will consist of the top 10,000 – 15,000 ranks in the JEE Advanced. However, all such students also have to be in the top 20% of their boards (which ever board they write in Std XII) to get entrance into the IITs.

The exam will be conducted in two modes - Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Paper-1 (for B.E/B.Tech courses) will be conducted in two separate modes i.e. Offline (Pen and Paper Based Examination) mode and Online (Computer Based Examination) mode. However, Paper-2 (for B.Arch/B.Planning courses) of JEE (Main) will be conducted only in Pen and Paper mode. Aspirants need to opt for either Pen and Paper mode or Computer Based examination mode for Paper-1 only.

Listed below is the subject combination for each paper, type of questions in each paper and mode of examination available. Students may take Paper-1, or Paper-2, or both as per the course(s) they are seeking admission to.
