DU Admissions 2021: How Delhi University admissions will be conducted for ECA & Sports Category?
Considering over 70,000 students have got over 95 percent in CBSE 12th Results 2021, it is expected that DU Cutoffs will be higher than in previous years.
DU Admissions 2021: The University of Delhi commenced the admission application process for undergraduate courses on August 2, 2021. Candidates interested in DU Admissions 2021 can apply online at du.ac.in. DU UG Admissions 2021 concluded on August 31, 2021. Considering that over 70,000 students have got over 95 percent in CBSE 12th Results 2021, it is expected that DU Cutoffs will be higher than in previous years. According to the official schedule released by the varsity, DU first cut off list 2021 is to be released on October 1, 2021.
DU Admissions 2021 under ECA and Sports Category
Delhi University has also encouraged students to excel in various sports and extra-curricular activities by conducting various competitions and providing the necessary infrastructure. Talking about DU Admissions 2021 under ECA and Sports category, the varsity in its official press release states, “Representation of at least 1% each (of total intake capacity of the college) to ECA and Sports is mandatory for all colleges, subject to a ceiling of 5% (of total intake capacity of the college) in total for ECA and Sports together.”
DU further added that considering the unprecedented situation of the COVID-19 pandemic and prevailing public health guidelines, “UG merit-based admissions under the ECA and Sports Categories will take place without the conduct of online/offline trials.” “Admissions under these supernumerary seats will be done based on the Merit/Participation certificates of the applicants. Only for this year, the applicants will be allowed to upload certificates of the preceding four years (1st May 2017 – 30th April 2021),” DU said.
While talking to Shiksha.com about the conduct of DU Admissions for ECA and Sports category, Dr Alok Pandey, a member of the DU admission committee, also confirmed that no trials will be conducted. The admissions will be conducted based on the last three years' certificates of the candidates."
Meanwhile, Dr Rama Sharma, Principal, Hansraj College, DU, said, "Candidates must submit the certificates belonging to the right category under which they wish to take admission in. They must also ensure that they upload the certificates in the right manner following all the instructions to avoid any issues."
