Examinations and its schedule at Symbiosis, Noida
Symbiosis International University (SIU), Noida admits students based on the entrance exam held once a year by Symbiosis International University (SIU), Pune. Symbiosis Noida offers BA LLB, LLB and BBA courses at the UG level under Symbiosis Law School (SLS) and Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies (SCMS). There is a separate entrance exam for every course, like SET and SLAT.
SET is the Symbiosis Entrance Test for a management course, and SLAT is the Symbiosis Law Entrance Test for a law course. Both SET and SLAT were conducted as computer-based tests across 80 cities all over India.
Entrance Exams
The law entrance exam SLAT (Symbiosis Law Admission Test) is administered by Symbiosis International University (SIU) for BBA, LLB and BA LLB admissions. The university offers LLB and BBA programmes with an intake of 240 seats at the UG level under the Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies (SCMS) and 300 seats at the Symbiosis Law School (SLS).
Applicants must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognised board with an aggregate of at least 45% marks. Selection will be done based on the score obtained in SLAT, followed by PI and WAT. For the BBA program, admissions will be granted on the basis of scores obtained in the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET), followed by PI and WAT.
Admissions under LLB and BBA will be based on the merit list drawn on the basis of SLAT score (50%) and PI-WAT (50%) performance. In other words, it will be based on the cumulative marks scored on a scale of 100 marks, wherein the SLAT score will be scaled down to 50 marks, i.e., 50% weightage, and the remaining 50% weightage will be assigned as follows: Personal Interaction (PI) is worth 30 points (30%), and the Written Ability Test (WAT) is worth 20 points (20%). Candidates who have taken the 10+2 examination and who are awaiting results are eligible to apply. For the BBA program, the admissions will be based on the SET exam scores and PI-WAT scores with the same weightage as above.

Written Ability Test and Personal Interview
Admissions under both law and management courses will be based on the SLAT and SET scores, which are followed by the Written Ability Test (WAT). WAT is the 30-45 minute short essay writing exercise having a weightage of 20 marks in the admission procedure. Candidates are expected to write on the topic given within the time frame with no word limit. The skills that are tested through WAT include spontaneity, creativity, and clarity. The topics are mostly general, however, based on the current affairs in the country and the world. The WAT is conducted through the online mode based on the merit list of the SET.
WAT is followed by a Personal Interview (PI) conducted by the SIU to test the personality of the candidate. The PI round will be conducted in the online mode for about 10-15 minutes. PI has a weightage of 30 marks. In the PI round, candidates are asked general questions related to their background or future prospects. Interviews are taken with the 2-3 panellists consisting of SIU faculty and the dean. The PI round is conducted to test the confidence and personality of the candidates.
Therefore, the UG admissions are based on the entrance exam (50%), WAT (20%) and PI (30%) scores for BBA, LLB and BA LLB courses.
