Extracurricular activities at any institution are as important as academics. Extracurricular activities help in the holistic growth of the student. It boosts confidence level and motivates the student to possess a positive attitude in all situations at the workplace or in personal life. In this article, we will discuss the extracurricular activities at IMT Ghaziabad. 

Cultural Committee at IMT Ghaziabad

Cultural Committee at IMT Ghaziabad reflects cultural diversity by involving students in various cultural performances and conducting various festive events. This helps the institution to maintain cultural harmony among students from diverse backgrounds. The committee believes that the institution should have healthy, fun and frolic activities along with a busy academic schedule. The institute offers a platform for students to showcase their talent. The institution has a pool of talented students, which includes musicians, writers, painters, photographers and art dreamers. The institution provides a homely ambience to students so that they feel free to pursue their passion. The cultural committee organises the following activities on the campus. 

Zest: It is a talent hunt event for the juniors, organised by the juniors themselves. The motive of the event is to explore the talent of the new student pool. The committee has the responsibility to conduct the event, whereas, the individual or team performers are encouraged to do their best. Students get an opportunity to realise their potential by participating in various types of events like cultural, non-cultural and informal events.

Passion: It is a two-day cultural and management extravaganza program at IMT Ghaziabad. The institution celebrates this program every year in the month of November and December. It is popularly known as Mecca of B-School fest. Every year thousand plus students from top-notch colleges across India participate in Passion. It has different types of cultural programs, where each participant tries to perform his/ her level best. Events related to music, dancing, singing, creative Ad designing and sketching are the main events in the program. Participants perform solo, duet and in groups.

Fabula: It is a nukkad natak to bring change in society. This event is not restricted to college boundaries but also takes place outside of the college. Areas covered are Delhi-Central Park and Connaught Place which had a significant impact. Experts from the same field of drama usually come to judge the participants. The topic of nukkad natak is at the discretion of the performing group.

Crescendo: Crescendo is the farewell event conducted by students for the outgoing batch. In this event, the outgoing students perform on the stage as juniors do in the event Zest. It has dance, drama and anything that students want to perform for the purpose of entertainment. The event usually takes place inside the amphitheatre. It is held in the month of February every year.

The next event is Dhrupad Sarod also known as the Sarod concert. This is to expose students to Indian classical music. 

Dandiya night program was held for the second time in the year 2020 at IMT Ghaziabad. It marks the beginning of Indian festivals and the motive is to connect students at IMT Ghaziabad. Holi is also celebrated at the IMT campus. So with functions like Holi and Dandiya night, the committee is trying to connect all the students with cultural roots. IMT Ghaziabad celebrates the spirit of patriotism through music and poetry on Independence day. 

Another event is Tatva, which is to award budding managers on their theory application part and ideas in the industry during the summer internships. Students from various top B schools meet at one common platform to share the experience of what they have learned in their internship and how things are related to real-life industrial practices. 

So, going through all these activities we can say that IMT Ghaziabad is not only known for its quality education but is also a place to groom students in different ways.
