Goa University Admissions 2021: With the approval of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Goa University has introduced two six-month vocational programmes. According to the reports, the varsity has developed the course to provide upward mobility to students to pursue the bachelor and later the masters degree in the vocational stream. The two certificate courses offered will be fundamentals of computers and networking and advanced instruments, gadgets and appliances.

Candidates interested in Goa University Admissions 2021 must note that students who have cleared Class XII from any stream can join the programme. Students who have cleared Class X are also eligible to apply for the six-month course. They will be eligible for seats if any are left vacant after admissions are given to Class XII qualification holders. The last date to apply for the programme is until June 30. Reports suggest that Goa University will commence the programme from July 20 onwards. Applicants will be required to deposit a course fee of Rs 4,000 in order to join the programme, GU has said. The 30-credit programme will also have provisions for internship and placement.

The programme will involve training in the repair of laboratory and other sophisticated equipment. The programmes are meant to develop skills among the students in alignment with the needs of the industry to drive economic growth and social development. The courses are being offered under the central government’s National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF). Applications for admission to these certificate programmes will be accepted only through the online mode, GU has said.“Interested candidates must visit the GU website, i.e. www.unigoa.ac.in for details and for admission portal link,” the university has said. University Science Instrumentation Centre (USIC), under the School of Physical and Applied Science at GU, has initiated the vocational programmes.
