Having a clear idea about career goals is important: Radhika Ghuwalewala
The first step I took after giving my class 12 final examinations was that for two days, I did in-depth research for further career options and it was one of a kind experience. I was completely unaware about the colleges and the admission process. I got confused and frustrated at the end but just as I was about to give up, I found a small article on Google about the scope of MBA in India and that changed my mind.
I was genuinely attracted to the corporate world since from an early age and had some sense of finance. The atmosphere in my house also played its part and validated the idea of a corporate career. When I was in school, I was struggled with history but I was relatively good with mathematics. I decided early on that I wanted to take admission in a very prestigious MBA college and joined management coaching institutes also for preparation. I had fun while learning management concepts because it was my area of interest.
The real challenge came up after I finished my graduation. It was time for getting admission in a college where I could get an amazing campus, great atmosphere all around, best classroom teaching to which I can relate and a good placement record after course completion. I again took help of Google, started searching for best management colleges in India, and shortlisted colleges based on the above criteria.
I would suggest having a clear idea about your career goals and focus on what you really want to do with your life.
I am currently pursuing MBA at Narayana Business School, Ahmedabad and I can confidently say that my journey so far since admission has been amazing. I had applied for a GDPI-1 in November, but in presence of other more meritorious students in the first round, I was not selected.
However, I kept on following updates for next rounds of Personal Interview and GDPI and in February that year, I again appeared for the selection process, but even this time I returned home empty hand. I thought of giving up even after Narayana Business School (NBS) matching my criteria and began searching for other colleges. I again got a call in April about the extended round of PI and GDPI and I appeared for it. My name appeared in the last entry of the final list of intakes and I could finally take a sigh of relief.
Narayana Business School (NBS), Ahmedabad, Gujarat is at par or in some ways, even better than few of the costly management colleges in India. It is truly a great college and I am fully enjoying my management course so far.
