IIT Delhi to confer degrees on 2,117 graduating students tomorrow

TheΒ Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi will hold its 52nd convocation tomorrow (November 13, 2021). PadamashreeΒ Warrior, IIT Delhi alumna, founder and CEO of Fable, will be the chief guest on the occasion.Β
As many as 2,117 graduating students of undergraduate and postgraduate courses will be awarded degrees on the occasion.Β Warrior and R Chidambaram, chairperson, board of governors, IIT Delhi, will address the graduating students, while V Ramgopal Rao, Director, IIT Delhi, will present the directorβs report.Β
The meritorious graduating students will be awarded the Presidentβs Gold Medal, Directorβs Gold Medal, Perfect Ten Gold Medal, the Institute Silver Medal and the awards instituted by donors.Β
IIT Delhi alumnus to gift INR 75 crore to instituteΒ
Addressing a press conference on the eve of 52nd convocation of IIT Delhi, Director V Ramgopal Rao said, βAnant Yardi, an alumnus of IIT Delhi, had agreed to gift $10 million (INR 75 crore) to the institute.Β
He said Yardiβs gift would enable IIT Delhi to create state-of-the-art laboratories and attract talented students and researchers to its newly established School of Artificial Intelligence (ScAI).Β
The institute will also confer alumni awards on the occasion. The Distinguished Alumni Award will be presented to six alumni, the Graduates of Last Decade (GOLD) Award will be given to four alumni and the Distingushed Alumni Service Award (DASA) will be awarded to one alumnus, an official statement read.
