Internship Update: ISBR Reports 100% Internships Amid the Covid Pandemic

February 11, 2021: Though the global pandemic situations impacted all businesses and corporates adversely, the educational institutions did not lose hope. Despite the economic slowdown, Bangalore based one of the renowned management institutes, ISBR Business School managed to bring internship opportunities for all its students.

The internship season started in mid-November 2020. Similar to the other top business schools in the world, ISBR students have been through simulated virtual interviews arranged by the recruiters. The year 2020 also saw the institute embark on a new journey in partnership with Start-Ups & New Age businesses to recruit interns.

Over 100 companies participated in the internship season last year making a total number of 170 offers to the students. The highest stipend reported so far is Rs 25,000 per month. Recruiters from all major areas of industries and services, including Management Consulting, FMCG, FMCD, Banking & Financial Services, KPO, Education, Automotive, Healthcare, Insurance, IT Services, Logistics, Manufacturing, Market Research, Media, Real Estate, Retail, etc. actively participated offering varied roles to the students.

The management grads are interning with some of the most renowned and premium brands in diverse sectors with students of HR and Marketing getting maximum number of offers. As per the response received, the institute is expecting 60 per cent of the students to receive PPOs from the companies they are interning with.

Students Present Joint Research Paper at International Conference

February 20, 2020: MBA students of ISBR Business School, Rashmi Rao and Shraddha Pandey doing assistantship under Professor Veena Roy, presented joint research paper at International Conference on innovation in technology, business and management. Title of the paper was “eWOM (Electronic Word of Mouth)” and “Buying Patter of Consumers : A Thematic Analysis”. This research aimed at analysing factors influencing electronic word of mouth as well as to assess its impact on consumers' buying habits for the device Samsung 7-in-1 (32 cm) HD LED Smart TV. Seven attributes were considered essential for E-word of mouth based on content and thematic analysis. The factors were product, price, place, promotion, packaging, installation and warranty. As per study product, price, place, promotion, packaging, installation and warranty  are factors which influence the consumers in their purchase of the proposed product.

School Organises Business Conclave 1-2020

February 15, 2020: ISBR hosted the first edition of Business Conclave 2020 that addressed the recent developments in various industries. The theme of the conclave was Technology and Business.

Discussion were around many topics such as impact of digitalisation in current era, technology disruption in business and can AI replace human intelligence. To talk on the latest trends and practices, eminent industry professionals were invited such as Service Delivery Manager-Capgemini Lalitha, Srinivasa Rao; Senior Director-Global Solution Design Centre, Satish Ramaiah; Research Scientist-GE Healthcare, Vinoth Lakshmi Narayan; and Cloud Architect-Accolyte INC, Gulfam Wani.

Workshop on Research Problem Formulation

January 4, 2020: ISBR Business School organised a one-day workshop on Research Problem Formulation as a part of Faculty Development Programme. The workshop was facilitated by Director Ramaiah Public Policy Centre at ISBR Dr Arkalgud Ramaprasad. He discussed about how ontological research should be conducted in detail and also cited examples to prove his theories. The workshop was witnessed by faculty and research scholars from institutes such as Amity Business School, IFIM, Christ University, WeSchool, Acharya Institute of Management and faculty members of ISBR. Certificates were given to all the participants

ISBR Organises Business Analytics Workshop

December 4, 2019: ISBR Business School organised a workshop on Business Analytics using Python in the school campus in collaboration with IIM, Kozhikode. The workshop aimed at teaching students the art of solving real-life business problems using Python as a tool. The three-day long workshop helped students solve business cases in real-time, thus engaging their 85 per cent of time in practical learning. Workshop focused on different domains of analytics such as Predictive Analytics, Demand Forecasting, Prescriptive analytics and Objective and Subjective segmentation. Prominent industry expert with over 15 years of rich experience in data science machine learning and artificial intelligence, Kanchan Bowmik facilitated the workshop. Five students were rewarded merit certifications and they will get a chance to present ISBR at national-level contest at IIM Kohzikode.

Institute Conducts an Interactive Session on “Managerial Efectiveness”

December 19, 2019: ISBR Business School organised an interactive session for students with experienced industry experts Ganesh Gopalan and Dilip Patel from Infosys. They talked about the meaning and elements of “Managerial Effectiveness”. They explained that term “Managerial Effectiveness” means to be able to achieve organisational objectives, with maximum productivity , employee satisfaction, growth and diversity. Students learnt about making effective use of scarce resources in a manner to drive organisational growth with maximum productivity and at minimum cost. The elements to impact the effectiveness are environment, entrepreneurship, organisation and manager.

ISBR School Hosts Students and Faculty from CIT-Gubbi

December 20, 2019: ISBR School hosted 52 students and two faculty members from Channabasaveshwara Institute of Technology, CIT-Gubbi. After the welcome ceremony, students were taken for Industrial visit to Electronic City Industries Association (ELCA). CEO-ELCA, Rama told students about the importance of latest technology in work and life and how they have been transforming Greener Electronic City with Technology integration for Traffic Control and Waste Management System. Moving ahead, students were routed to Syscon Instruments Pvt Ltd for second industry visit, CEO Sri Veerabadhrappa shared the life lessons with students and told them the importance of confidence and values in life.
