In a conversation with Shiksha.com, experts at IPE Hyderabad - Institute of Public Enterprise share detailed information about their PGDM programme. They talked about various other programmes offered at the institute, eligibility criteria, the complete admission and selection process, placement trends and their world-class infrastructure.

Here is the edited excerpt of the conversation:

Q: What is the eligibility criteria and selection process for admission in PGDM programme?

A: To be eligible for admission, the applicant needs to have a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent in the undergraduate programme in any discipline from a recognised university. A minimum aggregate of 45 per cent is required or candidate belonging to SC/ST/OBC. Also, the applicant must have a valid score of at least one of the nationally accepted qualifying exams such as CAT, MAT, XAT CMAT and ATMA.

The eligible applicants can apply for the admissions online on the institute’s official website by paying a nominal fee of Rs 500.

Further to application screening, the shortlisted candidates are called for group discussion round and a personal interview round. On the basis of the overall performance of the applicant in entire admission process including the merit scores, the admissions are offered.

Q: What are the various programmes offered at IPE?

A: Our all the programmes are in line with the needs of the corporate world. It includes:

• PGDM Banking Insurance and Financial Services
• PGDM International Business
• PGDM Human Resource Management
• Executive PGDM
• MBA-Practising Executives

Q: What is the total cost of two-year PGDM proramme? Do you also offer accommodation on campus?

A: The total cost of the two-year PGDM programme is Rs 8 lakh. The institute also offers accommodation on campus. The annual fee of the same is Rs 1 lakh.

Q: Do offer any scholarships or financial assistance to students?

A: We do offer scholarships up to Rs 2 lakh depending on the scores in the qualifying exam. Also, we understand that financial issues should not be the hindrance in students education and hence, the Institute also offers all possible assistance to students is seeking education loan.

Q: What is the total student intake?

A: The total student's intake of all programmes is 540.

Q: Can you share some placement trends of the previous year?

A: IPE Hyderabad, has a track record 99 per cent placements for last several years. We have almost all big brands across various industries actively participating in the placement season such as Thomson Reuters, Triniti, Godrej, Novartis, Future Group, Kotak Life Insurance, Axis Bank, Indusind Bank, Standard Chartered, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI, TCS, Cognizant, Capital First, Mobis, Franklin, Templeton Investments, Oracle, Deloitte, Microsoft, Mahindra, The Times of India, Vodafone, Amul and Airtel. The institute witnessed the highest package of Rs 16.5 LPA and an average package of Rs 6.6 LPA in the last placement season.

Q: What other facilities does IPE offers to students?

A: IPE has signed MoUs with various national and international universities. As a result of which, the institute offers national and international immersion programmes to students. They can choose to opt for these programmes but an additional fee of Rs 40,000 for national immersion and Rs 1.5 lakh for international immersion.
