With each passing trimester, I got a chance to learn new skills and operation methods. I learned to manage my time, thanks to JIMS. I have also started learning new skills and programmes that can add value to my resume. I also got to experience working in a live project with Dabur India Limited within the first four months of joining the college. The college also brings on board a lot of interesting summer internship opportunities.

Many a times we are asked the same questions again and again in our life, “What do you want to become in life?”, “What do you want to become?” . This question starts to settle in when we clear Class 10 and then Class 12. That’s when we start planning for our life ahead. I had set a clear vision for myself, a goal to become a successful entrepreneur. Thus, I started to walk the stream of commerce and completed my BCom. After that, I had to choose a college for my management degree. This is a very important moment of one’s life and for me, JIMS Rohini - Jagan Institute of Management Studies was that.

Graduation had given me the theoretical knowledge of Economics, Accounting and Management. And then was the time, I wanted to get practical exposure. So I did a lot of research for colleges having a good record in training students. After checking a few, I came across JIMS Rohini. Though I was selected for all the colleges I applied in, I opted for JIMS Rohini and I am happy today that I made the right decision.

It was a whole new experience for me as it was my first time away from home, living and handling things alone in a new city. In the beginning, it was difficult with all the assignments, projects and studies to handle along with maintaining proper work-life balance. But within a few days, I started to learn proper time management in JIMS Rohini.

When I first visited JIMS Rohini with my parents, they were impressed by its infrastructure and the area it was located at, which is very close to the Metro station. I was struck with excitement when I met the faculty and got to know the environment of the college. The faculty members of JIMS Rohini are highly experienced members who are ready to help at all times be it placement or studies related doubt. The campus has a healthy and positive environment. We have Nescafe outlet along with regular canteen inside the campus that serves healthy and hygienic food. The staff members are very friendly and cooperative and take care of everyone’s choices. I realised I made a good decision when I met my batchmates. Many of them are experienced in good profiles working with big giants. They share with me their journey which helps me cope up with stress.

JIMS taught me management the proper way and helped me develop as well as learn new skills needed by an entrepreneur. They even taught grooming and how to dress for different types of business scenarios. I also became a Coordinator for both the Human Resource Society and Literary Society in which I got the opportunity to work with teachers to organise events in our college. We have annual sports day celebrations in our campus that witness active participation of a lot of colleges across the city. I participated in the Football match. Besides this, the college also organises frequent social and cultural events.

Today, I feel more confident about myself. I have learned team-management and problem-solving skills. I am now ready to face the corporate world. JIMS provided exactly what I asked for. I see great opportunities ahead for myself and so I will keep on working on my skills. I aspire to be a successful entrepreneur one day.
